Dialoghotel Eckstein:
the first sustainability-certified hotel in the canton of Zug.
Commitment to the future
The Dialoghotel Eckstein attaches great importance to sustainable management and acting responsibly towards future generations. We have set out the associated goals and aspirations in a sustainability charter, among other things. It serves as a guideline for us in our everyday work when planning our offers, purchasing, building projects and in our encounters with people.
We are supported in our efforts by ibex fairstay – the seal of quality for sustainability in accommodation – and are regularly audited. We have proudly carried the ibex fairstay label since 2024.
Our sustainability charter
1. quality of management
The topic of sustainability is consciously anchored in management. Internal structures and processes are adapted accordingly: Employee management, internal organization, controlling, guest orientation, innovation. The management acts as a role model and is responsible for ensuring that the sustainability charter is an integral part of daily work and decision-making processes.
2. ecology – careful use of resources
The careful use of resources is important to us. That’s why we pay attention to environmental compatibility and specific ways to save energy, water, waste, purchasing, furnishings and the environment.
3. regional anchoring
The added value should remain in the region wherever possible and strengthen it. In this way, we create jobs, support traditions, reduce transport routes and inspire enthusiasm for regional specialties and characteristics.
4. social balance
Guests and employees should feel comfortable. We make sure that the general conditions are right for everyone: Consideration of guests’ wishes, fair and supportive working conditions for employees, involvement of suppliers, harmony with the local population, accessibility.
5. finances and performance
Only an economically sound business can operate sustainably and secure jobs. That is why we place a strong focus on earnings, performance, cost control, investments, risk management and guest and employee satisfaction.

Our sustainability philosophy
Christian values (our professional ethics)
The thoughts and actions of the owners and management are characterized by Christian values. All of us – management and all employees – treat our guests, suppliers and ourselves with respect. In cordial and honest encounters, our counterparts recognize their own value.
Sustainability
We value the natural resources of creation and treat them carefully and responsibly. This is reflected in the following measures, among others:
- Gastronomy (breakfast buffet, seminar catering, banquets)
Authentic, strictly seasonal and regional food offer. Clear content declaration of all dishes out of consideration for guests with allergies. Sensibly coordinated weekly menu plans. Portioning tailored to guests. Short transportation routes with suppliers. - Housekeeping, building services
Reduction in electricity consumption through consistent conversion to LED lighting and motion detectors, avoidance of power peaks, use of energy-conscious appliances. Use of non-toxic cleaning agents. Minimum amount of waste and food waste, etc. - Management and team leaders
Furthermore, in everything we do, we keep the topics of savings, optimization and environmental compatibility in mind.
Atmosphere
We create space for encounters and dialog. Through personal contact, seminar and leisure activities as well as inviting, contemporary hotel rooms and premises and a “Room of Silence” open to all, our guests experience an atmosphere of inspiration and personal empowerment in addition to their business activities (conferences, meetings).
Social commitment
Our “Statement of Work Philosophy”, the foundation of our collaboration, has been signed by all employees and is publicly available on our website. We also give people with different professional backgrounds a new opportunity to find their way in everyday working life – whether through the creation of apprenticeships or jobs with reduced requirements such as work training, reintegration attempts with job coaching etc. or through jobs for People with disabilities.
